About Tatiana Novaes
I’m a Pilates and movement coach based in South Kensington, with over twenty years of experience across professional dance, rehabilitation and strength training.
My work brings together the precision of classical Pilates, the structure of strength coaching, and the deep understanding of movement I developed working with elite dancers and rehabilitation professionals. I help clients build strength, improve posture, and move with more confidence — whether you’re recovering from injury, navigating the changes that come with age, or simply want a body that feels more capable.
The Novaes Method
The Novaes Method is the approach I’ve developed over two decades of coaching. It combines classical Pilates with modern strength training and the eye for movement I built as a choreologist and rehearsal director in professional dance.
It rests on five ideas, which I keep coming back to in every session.
The Five Pillars of the Novaes Method
Personalised Coaching
Every programme is built around the person in front of me — their movement patterns, their lifestyle, their goals.
Long-Term Physical Confidence
The aim isn’t fitness for its own sake. It’s a body you can rely on — for years, not weeks.
Strength That Supports Real Life
Not intensity for its own sake. Strength that makes everyday movement easier and more reliable..
Intelligent Alignment
Posture, joint mechanics and muscular balance refined so the body works with less strain.
Precision of Movement
Small adjustments to alignment, timing and control make a real difference. The eye I trained in dance comes in here.

How I work
Movement should support life, not limit it. I’m not interested in extreme training, quick fixes, or pushing through pain. The work I do with clients is about building a body that feels strong, balanced and reliable — the kind of body that holds up to a full day, a long flight, a sudden sprint for the train, a grandchild on your hip.
Sessions are challenging in the right ways. Progress is real, measurable and sustainable. And whatever you came in for, you usually leave with more than you expected.
