About Tatiana Novaes
Tatiana Novaes is a Pilates and strength coach based in South Kensington, London, with over two decades of experience in movement, rehabilitation and professional dance.
Her work combines the precision of classical Pilates, the intelligence of strength training and the deep movement understanding developed through a career working with elite performers, international ballet companies and rehabilitation professionals.
Tatiana specialises in helping clients build strength, improve posture and move with greater confidence and ease — whether recovering from injury, navigating the physical changes that come with age, or simply wanting a body that feels stronger, more capable and more reliable over time.
A Background in Professional Dance and Movement Analysis
Before focusing fully on coaching, Tatiana worked extensively in the international dance world as a choreologist, rehearsal director and movement specialist.
Her professional experience includes work with the Royal Opera House, Boston Ballet, Northern Ballet, Royal New Zealand Ballet, Washington National Opera and other leading companies. Throughout her career, she has been responsible not only for choreography and movement analysis but also for supporting performers physically through demanding productions and performances.
Most recently, during productions of Turandot at the Royal Opera House between 2025 and 2026, Tatiana worked alongside principal singers and performers, using her knowledge of movement and rehabilitation to help support injury management and physical performance throughout the production period.
This background developed what many clients describe as Tatiana’s exceptional ability to observe movement patterns and understand what the body needs — often identifying imbalances and compensations that others may overlook.
Pilates, Strength Training and Rehabilitation
Tatiana trained through the Alan Herdman Pilates programme and has continued to expand her expertise through advanced study with leading educators, including Elizabeth Larkam, the Franklin Method, and specialist training in rehabilitation, women’s health, and strength coaching.
Her approach is informed not only by Pilates, but also by years of working alongside physiotherapists, rehabilitation clinics and movement specialists.
Over the years, she has worked with a wide range of clients, including professional dancers, performers, busy professionals, rehabilitation clients and adults looking to maintain strength, mobility and physical independence as they age.
The Novaes Method
Tatiana’s coaching is built around what she calls the Novaes Method — a refined approach to movement that combines precision, strength and intelligent progression.
Rather than relying on generic exercise routines, every programme is tailored to the individual and evolves as the body becomes stronger and more capable.
Clients often arrive with pain, stiffness, postural issues or a lack of confidence in movement. Through careful observation, progressive strength work, and highly personalised coaching, they begin to move differently, feel stronger, and reconnect with what their bodies are capable of achieving.
Many clients comment not only on the physical results they experience, but also on Tatiana’s intuitive understanding of movement and ability to adapt sessions to exactly what their body needs on any given day.
Others describe being surprised by how much stronger and more physically capable they become over time — often achieving things they never imagined possible when they first started training.
Coaching Today
Today, Tatiana works with clients both in person at her South Kensington studio and online worldwide through live coaching and her Online Studio platform.
Her work focuses on helping people develop long-term strength, mobility and confidence through intelligent, structured movement training.
Whether working with someone recovering from injury, improving posture, building strength later in life or simply wanting to move and feel better, the goal remains the same: to help the body become stronger, more balanced and more resilient for the long term.
Philosophy
Tatiana believes that movement should support life — not limit it.
Her approach is not based on quick fixes or extreme training methods, but on building a body that feels strong, capable and reliable over time.
Sessions are designed to challenge clients intelligently, support progress safely and create meaningful, lasting change — both physically and mentally.
The result is not simply better exercise performance, but greater confidence in how the body moves through everyday life.
